An Creagan Interior
We hope that you like the interior design of the cottage. We have tried to pay as much attention to detail to give An Creagan a homely and Scottish feel. We like to think that we have managed to maintain a tradition feel in the cottage by using Harris Tweed soft furnishings and the work of artists that reflect the magical and unique factors of Island life.
Harris Tweed- This beautiful cloth is truly soaked in the history and heritage of Lewis and Harris. The Clo Mor (The Big Cloth) has stood the test of time, and continues to remain one of the most famous textiles in the world. The Orb stamped cloth is protected by its own Act of Parliament as it must be hand woven at the home of the weaver in the Outer Hebrides. The choice of colours, checks, and weights will leave you utterly spoilt for choice. We hope you agree that it really has been the perfect addition to An Creagan. Pam Carter- Pam Carter is a well known artist who travels around the Islands, capturing what I think is rare to find in a painting; they truly are breathtaking. The artist, originally from East Africa to an Austrian mother and Scottish father, graduated from Glasgow School of Art in the 1970s. Following a teaching career, she now paints full time. Pam captures the rugged West Coast of Scotland like no other. Her ability to capture light in her landscapes is beautiful. You cannot help but fall in love with her work. Georgina McMaster- Georgina McMaster is a hugely popular artist, well known for her powerful paintings of Scottish wildlife. The artist studied at Edinburgh College of Art, and has travelled a lot in India, influencing much of her work on Tigers. She communicates the real character of the animals in her incredibly life like paintings. The artist’s attention to detail is astounding, and she truly does capture the soul of animal in their eyes.
